Falex Timken Test Rig

Falex Timken Test Rig

  • The Falex Timken Extreme Pressure Test Rig is one of the first commercially manufactured testers for evaluating load carrying capacity of extreme pressure lubricants.
  • Originally developed in the 1930’s by the Timken Company, and built under license by Falex, the tester measures the scoring load (OK vs. NOK load) or a recirculated oil, or a grease pumped in the contact.
  • Contact geometry of a block on a rotating ring, this tester avoids the unrealistic high contact pressure/high wear situation of the Four Ball machines
  • Standardized, with standard specimens since 1930, a wide database of results exists.
